LEAGUE RULES
Mid Norfolk League
Games in the Mid Norfolk Invitation Bowls League are played under Norfolk County Bowling Association rules. • Teams to consist of 3 blocks of three players with three woods each, games to be 16 live ends. • In the event of a match being stopped owing to inclement weather or bad light, a result can be recorded provided a minimum of 12 live ends per block have been completed. The score at the time play was stopped to stand as the result • The minimum jack length shall be 19m and a maximum of 37m • The jack must be at least 2m from the edge of the green after casting or moved out to 2m. • The Jack or wood in the ditch are counted as dead. • No bowl shall count which is more than 2m from the jack. • Matches start at 7pm until 31st July, from 1st August it's a 6:30pm start.
Dereham & District League
Games in the Dereham league are played as three rinks of three players under Federation rules. • The minimum jack length shall be 23 metres Jack in the ditch is live. Any woods in the ditch are considered dead. • Only woods within 2 metres of the cot to count. Matches start at 7pm until 31st July, from 1st August it's a 6:30pm start. • Scoring - Two points per rink win plus two points to the team with the highest aggregate score. (In the event of an aggregate score tie, these two points will be shared).
Age Concern League Constitution & Rules
Games in the Age Concern league are played as two rinks of three players. • All games start at 2pm • League matches and all cup matches will be played in accordance with the current Norfolk Federation rules. • Cot in the ditch within the confines of the rink is live, all bowls in ditch are dead, minimum cot length is 19 metres. • All games will consist of 16 live ends, 3 woods for each player. • Only woods within 2 metres of the cot to count. • In the event of a dead end, the end shall be replayed. • In the event of an episode. i.e. weather, that causes an early termination of the game, a game will be considered completed if both rinks have completed 12 or more ends. • Scoring - 2 points per rink win plus two points for the overall score.
Elmham League Constitution & Rules
Games in the Elmham & District League are played under Norfolk County Bowling Association rules. • Teams to consist of 3 blocks of three players with three woods each, games to be 16 live ends. • In the event of a match being stopped owing to inclement weather or bad light, a result can be recorded provided a minimum of 12 live ends per block have been completed. The score at the time play was stopped to stand as the result • The minimum jack length shall be 23 metres • The jack is live in the ditch and will be played to, its position being indicated by a suitable marker placed above it on the face of the bank. • All bowls in the ditch are dead. • Matches start at 7pm until 31st July, from 1st August it's a 6:30pm start.
